Has anyone gotten reservations for the Royal Terrace (the lounge that overlooks the main ring)? Do you need to have box seats/VIP tickets to sit up in there?

I'm disappointed that the indoor shows in the US can offer pretty decent live streaming for free but the Royal can't. Even the ticket prices for the US shows are significantly cheaper. Imagine going to the evening shows at the Royal for $10-$20!

Imagine going to the evening shows at the Royal for $10-$20! The Royal did offer live streaming until a couple/few years ago. The free feed was a small screen and you were unable to view it on a full screen. The paid feed could be viewed full screen. Now it's $20 for live viewing and $25 for live + on demand for a year. Both can be viewed full screen and the quality of the stream is much better now. Seems reasonable for something we only have here once a year. Royal West had live streaming for free and the videos are available to view but the quality was crap. usefnetwork has sponsors, most notably Smartpak. So it isn't really free - you pay for it by being subjected to ads for a company that doesn't ship here and products you can't get.

Going to see the Shetland Pony Grand National and Indoor Eventing on Friday night with a dear friend from university, and the Rodeo with my kids on Sunday - I can't wait. My hubby is hoping that I'll see something nice for myself there so that it can be my Christmas gift from him. Sixteen years of marriage and I can recall on one hand the number of times that I've been surprised by a birthday or Christmas gift. Has anyone watched the Grand National at the Royal before? Is it as funny as it looks?

I don't think they've had the Shetland Pony races at the Royal before, but I have seen it at some of the other big indoor shows and it is quite entertaining!

Anybody score any good deals? I hear the shopping is pretty sub-par this year.

I didn't really find too many good deals.
Big Country Raw is there and had a sample pack coupon if anyone has thought about raw feeding your dog, that would be a good one to pick up. I think it's $9 for 8 lbs of food, which is about half price. I'm giving it to my sister for her cat though, since she's going to start raw feeding soon. They also had Hero dog treats on sale, 3 bags for $20, so I got 3 bags of dehydrated chicken feet (good source of glucosamine/chondroitin). They are normally $10 each, so that was a good deal and I feed my dogs one every morning when I leave for work.

Shopping didn't seem as good this year as in the past. Although my bank account was thankful for that ?. I went mostly for the cattle anyways. Actually didn't get a chance to watch any horse showing this year.

That's really neat about the clinic kat. I wish they would have advertised those better!
