I doubt she would have been riding Ginny at Pan Am's anyways because it's only a 2* competition. But for the Olympics it definitely makes a difference! Sucks!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but Canada has not yet qualified for the Olympics as they didn't place high enough at WEG leaving only one spot for a team to qualify at the Pan Ams. Would we not then be sending only our best riders to the Pan Ams in hopes of qualifying? Thus loosing a seasoned 4* mount like Ginny is actually a pretty big hit to team Canada.

Not really though - our best teams at 2* level are not those who represent the Olympic team - some riders may be the same but others are just not competitive enough in the dressage. The best bet would be send the best 2* riders who are proven with good dressage horses, because you know the US will be there with guns blazing.
I can't imagine the heartbreak she must be going through right now. I am so not cut out to be a pro rider with owners supplying the horses.

I believe that Canada did in fact end up qualifying in eventing because the French team was eliminated for drug violations. That means only the US needs to qualify at the pan ams in eventing. Canada does however have to qualify for the Olympics in Show Jumping whereas the US has already qualified.

I never read that the disqualification was finalized. I thought there was an appeal process that could take up to a year to complete. If it was confirmed that the french rider did in fact drug his horse and it wasn't some random occurrence like what happened to Jock Paget, then yes, Canada will be finishing 6th at WEG and will be qualified for Olympics.
